How it started?

It all began when Colin Lowry a leaving cert student at the time, saw potential in blogging about his adventures as a leaving cert student. Together with his friend Kevin Holler, they began to discuss the idea. Kevin agreed to take part in the idea, and soon they began to put a simple website together. Soon after both Colin and Kevin got blogging and quickly expanded their team,  to be joined by Amy Flynn.

The website is now running into its third school year with a new team of  leaving-cert bloggers.

Have you guys got a goal?

We sure do. Our goal is to give everyone an insight into the life of a leaving cert student and how they cope with the tasks and challenges that lay ahead while keeping in mind that it is the final year and so fun is to be had! We hope to offer even those hardcore study people out there a chance to sit back and laugh about the leaving cert for a moment. It can all get a bit much at times, so grab a beer glass of water and relax.

What is leaving-cert.net about?

Leaving-cert.net is the blog detailing the humorous lives of leaving cert students. On this blog you will find their written descriptions and events they experienced during the course of the leaving certificate and preparation thereof. Despite the pressure the students continue to enjoy their last few months in school. We hear so much in the news and other media outlets about the leaving cert that we feel it is important to create a standing point for students to tell their stories, share their experiences and give their opinion on the leaving cert.
